George Mason University Libraries and the Digital Scholarship Center can only host your work of digital scholarship on one of the library servers in very specific circumstances. Maintaining servers is a labor-intensive task and we are unable to offer hosting to everyone who needs it.
Email datahelp@gmu.edu to set up an appointment with us if you are interested in learning more about the available hosting options. We will meet with you to discuss your project and, and in consultation with the head of Digital Systems, will make a decision as to whether we can host your work.
Preference will be given to projects that use the Libraries’ collections; whether you are affiliated with the library, e.g., are a Fenwick Fellow; or if your project has been a collaborative effort involving library faculty and staff.
There are limited hosting options available through Information Technology Services.
Depending on the complexity of your project, we may recommend you purchase hosting through Reclaim Hosting. They have excellent customer service and provide a wide variety of plans. The most basic plan costs only $30 per year but they can also make a recommendation depending on your needs.
Through Reclaim you can install instances of WordPress, Omeka Classic and Omeka S, Scalar, and a variety of other applications. We are happy to assist you in getting started with Reclaim.
